Anyone had real luck with interracial dating sites or is it mostly bots?
I joined one of those interracial dating sites after a coworker in Chicago swore by it, but I’m not gonna lie, it’s been kind of underwhelming. I’m a Latino guy in Philly and I mostly date outside my race, so I thought it might be a better fit than Bumble. Instead I’ve been getting a lot of random likes from profiles with one blurry photo and bios that feel copied and pasted.
Maybe I’m just impatient, but I’ve had better conversations on regular apps. On the niche site, people either don’t reply or they jump into really personal stuff way too fast. Has anyone actually met somebody normal on these apps? I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth paying for a subscription or if I should just delete it and move on.

Lisa NakamuraPREMIUMI’m in Oakland and had the same issue. I signed up for one of those sites a while ago because I wanted to meet more people who were open to interracial dating, but the bot vibe was strong. A lot of the messages felt generic, like nobody was really reading my profile. After about a week I was already annoyed.
What helped me was checking whether the site had active local users before paying anything. If you’re in Philly, there should be enough people on Hinge, Bumble, even OkCupid to make it work without a paid niche site. I do think some people have better luck on the smaller sites, but only if the area is active. Otherwise it’s just a lot of dead accounts and weird messages.

Aisha JohnsonPREMIUMI’ve actually met one decent person through a niche interracial site, but it took forever and I had to wade through a ton of nonsense first. I’m in Miami and the app had a bunch of profiles that looked abandoned, plus some people who were clearly there for the wrong reasons. The one good match I got turned into a real relationship for a few months, so I can’t say it was completely useless.
My honest take is don’t pay for more than a month unless you already know people in your city are using it. Also, put effort into your profile if you haven’t already. I noticed better results when I had clear photos and actually said something about my hobbies and what I was looking for, instead of just hoping the app would do the work for me. The site won’t be magic, but it might still be worth testing before you write it off.
